Summary Once you’ve developed your in-house enterprise apps and have deployed your hardware, you need to install the software on your users’ devices. There are three ways this can be accomplished: the App Store, Ad Hoc, or Enterprise deployment models. Depending on the application and the situation, any of those three models can be appropriate options, and most organizations will utilize a combination of all three. Additionally, since most companies will deploy more than one in-house app, providing your users with an in-house catalog can offer a lot of value and empower users with a self-service capability on a par with Apple’s own App Store. Facilitating the deployment of applications and the update of those apps is a relatively straightforward process, but you don’t have to reinvent the wheel, since there are a number of third-party vendors that offer pre-built solutions to accomplish this. In the next chapter, you’ll dig into the concepts and vendors involved in mobile device management.
